Panch Badri Yatra – Sacred Journey of Lord Vishnu
Day 1: Arrival in Rishikesh – Drive to Joshimath
The pilgrimage begins from the spiritual town of Rishikesh, often called the gateway to the Himalayas. Drive through the beautiful Alaknanda River valley passing several sacred confluences such as Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag. Continue the scenic drive to the mountain town of Joshimath which serves as the base for several Himalayan pilgrimages.

Day 2: Badrinath Temple Darshan
Drive from Joshimath to the sacred town of Badrinath located at an altitude of around 3,133 meters. Pilgrims traditionally take a holy dip in Tapt Kund, a natural hot spring near the temple before visiting the shrine. The temple of Lord Vishnu stands between the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges and has been one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India for centuries. After darshan, explore nearby sacred sites such as Mana Village and Vyas Gufa.

Overnight: Badrinath or Joshimath
Day 3: Yogadhyan Badri Temple
Drive to Pandukeshwar to visit Yogadhyan Badri. This temple is associated with King Pandu, the father of the Pandavas. According to legend, the Pandavas meditated here before leaving for their final journey to heaven. The temple houses a meditative idol of Lord Vishnu seated in a yogic posture. Return to Joshimath.

Day 4: Trek to Bhavishya Badri
Drive from Joshimath to Saldhar village via Tapovan. From Saldhar begin the trek to the sacred shrine of Bhavishya Badri. This temple lies deep within forested Himalayan valleys and is believed to be the future seat of Lord Vishnu when the current Badrinath temple becomes inaccessible. Return to Joshimath after darshan.

Day 5: Visit Vriddha Badri – Drive to Karnaprayag
Drive from Joshimath to Animath village to visit the ancient temple of Vriddha Badri. This temple is believed to be one of the earliest sites where Lord Vishnu was worshipped before the establishment of Badrinath Temple. After darshan, continue driving to Karnaprayag.

Vriddha Badri → Karnaprayag: 90 km
Overnight: Karnaprayag
Day 6: Visit Adi Badri – Return to Rishikesh
Drive to the ancient temple complex of Adi Badri, which consists of a group of 16 stone temples believed to date back to the Gupta period. After visiting the temple, begin the drive back to Rishikesh along the scenic Himalayan roads.
